STATEMENT FROM THE NO ON X CAMPAIGN REGARDING PRELIMINARY ELECTION RESULTS

With approximately 41% of the votes counted, Measure X is failing with only 51.66% voter approval. The Measure needs 55% support to pass.

The No on X Campaign thanks the voters of East County for rejecting this expensive and premature bond measure. With approximately 41% of the votes counted, its too early to declare victory, but if the vote count continues on this trend, Measure X will fail.

If the voters reject this bond, we look forward to working with the District to bring back a new bond in 2018 or 2020 that will not include a discriminatory project labor agreement. We support the District’s goals to improve education, but we do not support a bond that wastes money on “pay to play” project labor agreements.
